Laura Taylor
Laura Taylor is Relevant Technologies' founder. Her research has been used by the FDIC, the FBI, the IRS, various U.S. Federal Reserve Banks, U.S. Customs, the U.S. Treasury, the White House, and many publicly held Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Taylor specializes in security audits of financial institutions and has provided information security consulting services to some of the largest financial institutions in the world including the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Treasury, the U.S. Governmentwide Accounting System, and National Westminster Bank - a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Before founding Relevant Technologies, Ms. Taylor was Director of Security Research at TEC. Ms. Taylor also served as CIO of Schafer Corporation and Director of Information Security at Navisite. Earlier in her career, Ms. Taylor held various positions at Sun Microsystems where she was awarded several 'Outstanding Performance' awards, and a CIS Security Award. Most recently Ms. Taylor received an award from a division of the U.S. Financial Management Services commissioner for her assistance with FISMA compliant Security Certification & Accreditation of highly sensitive systems. Ms. Taylor is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Ms. Taylor has been featured in many media forums including ABC-TV Business Now, CNET Radio, Boston Business Journal, Computer World, and The Montreal Gazette. Her research has been published on numerous web portals and magazines including Business Security Advisor, Forbes, SecurityWatch, eSecurityOnline, SecurityFocus, NetworkStorageForum, ZDNet, Datamation, MidRangeComputing, and Securify. Ms. Taylor has authored over 500 research articles and papers on information security topics and has contributed to multiple books. A graduate of Skidmore College, Ms. Taylor is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the IEEE Standards Association, and the National Security Agency’s IATFF Forum.

Brien Posey
Brien Posey is Relevant Technologies' Vice President of Research and Development. Mr. Posey previously served as the Director of Information Systems for a large, nationwide chain of healthcare facilities, and as the Department of Defense's senior network engineer at Fort Knox. During his time at Fort Knox, Mr. Posey was responsible for managing highest level network security practices, and disaster recovery initiatives. Mr. Posey has also served as Editor in Chief of several technical publications, and also as a network administrator for one of the country's largest insurance companies.

Mr. Posey is an award winning technology author, and has received Microsoft’s MVP award four times for his work with Windows Server, IIS, and Exchange Server. He has written or contributed material to 34 books and published over 4000 articles for a variety of web sites and printed publications including TechTarget, CNET, ZDNet, Microsoft's TechNet, Windows Networking, Jupiter Media, and Windows IT Professional.

Troy Thompson
Troy Thompson is Relevant Technologies' Vice President of Education and Training. Prior to coming to Relevant Technologies, Mr. Thompson provided network security and messaging consulting services to the Department of Defense for over 10 years. Mr. Thompson is a Cisco Certfied Academy Instructor (CCAI), and has numerous other certifications including CCNA, MCSE+I, CCAI, Network+, and A+.

A popular author of technology articles, tutorials, and white papers, Mr. Thompson's research has been published by leading technology publications and businesses including CNET, Microsoft, TechRepublic, and the Security Evaluation Center. The Department of Defense Education Activity continues to rely on Mr. Thompson's expertise for network and security training.
