The story sometimes seems secondary to the "process" of her becoming the living Saint, sometimes it feels like it's written "to the game" and the way the model is used in the 40K universe, but it still works. I rushed down to the local GW this morning to get my copy of the new book (as well as some other choice goodies), eager to read the new story and some of the new rules. We all know that Celestine has been chosen by the Emperor and that, when she is laid low in battle, she returns to life, ready to smite those who would dare to stand against her. Also, she can’t be taken as part of a Gladius- they would either need a SoB allied detachment or a CAD/allied of some other Imperial faction to put her into. I know gw doesn’t errata these kind of things but I hope this character isn’t meta changing for the tournament scene. She is accompanied to battle by two Geminae Superia (that do not prevent her from joining a unit). Little is known of her life and battles before she was proclaimed a Living Saint — presumably they were suppressed. Very little is known of her pre-Saint life, other than she was a Repentiaof the Order of Our Martyred Lady and participated in the Palatine Crusade. As a result of this, you are pretty much getting a character with 9 wounds, with Eternal Warrior on 5 of those, who also has the potential to recover 2 wounds each turn. As a living Saint, Celestine is a powerful supernatural warrior who can appear to aid the faithful in combat. My husband is and he spent the last of our audible credits on the Warhammer 40K books (shame him), so I had to listen to them because there are no other books in my audible library! Just wow! She can then use her Blessings to give the entire army It Will Not Die (assuming you deploy all the Knights within 12″ when the Blessing is used). The other insane thing about her that I noticed is she adds 4 recoverable wounds to ANY unit she joins.
