Robert Taylor, President of GTA
Bob Taylor brings over 20 years of industry experience to GTA. Bob has began his career as an engineer with Illinois Bell and has been involved in all facets of telecommunications from fieldwork to project research to acquisition management. He has also occupied a seat on the board of directors for numerous telecommunications companies and was named one of the 100 best CIO’s in the US according to CIO Magazine in 2000.
Bob has worked with such companies as MCI Communications, Madison River Communications and ITC DeltaCom. He served as CEO, President, Chairman and Director of Focal Communications, a company that has since been purchased by Broadwing Communications. Organization involvement includes the Association for Local Telecommunications Services, the Information Technology Association and the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council.
William J. Wynperle, Vice President of Shamrock Capital Advisors
Mr. Wynperle has been with Shamrock Group since 1997 and during this time has been responsible for reviewing investment opportunities in the United States, focusing on the media and communications industries. Previously, he was an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Smith Barney, Inc. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of PRN Corporation and Lifestage Media Group, Inc., two of the Shamrock Group’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Wynperle received a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management of the University of California, Los Angeles.
Stephen D. Royer, Managing Director of Shamrock Capital Advisors
Since joining the Shamrock Group in 1991, Mr. Royer has been responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, performing extensive investment analysis, and reviewing portfolio company operations. He is a director of Triad Broadcasting Company, LLC, and NETGEAR, Inc. Mr. Royer has served as a director of Latin Communications Group, Inc., a leading Spanish language media company in the U.S., and as a director of Cascadian Farm and Small Planet Foods, leading producers of branded organic foods.
Prior to joining the Shamrock Group in 1991, Mr. Royer was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and with Cain Brothers Shattuck and Co., an investment bank specializing in health care finance.
Mr. Royer received his B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University. Mr. Royer received an M.B.A. from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management of the University of California, Los Angeles.
John Parkinson, Vice President & Chief Technologist, Cap Gemini
Mr. Parkinson joined GTA Board of Directors in May 2005. He is Vice President and Chief Technologist, Americas Region for Cap Gemini, a technology consulting firm, based in Chicago, Illinois.
Prior to joining Cap Gemini, Mr. Parkinson was a Senior Partner in the Strategy and Corporate Development practice of Ernst and Young (E&Y), LLP and E&Y’s Director for Innovation and Strategy, Americas Region. He joined E&Y’s U.K. office in 1985 and moved to the U.S. in 1991.
Mr. Parkinson received his university degrees in Mathematics and Information Sciences from Exeter University in the U.K. He has contributed over 40 special interest papers to conferences and journals and is a frequent speaker at international meetings on innovation, technology strategy, emerging technologies and related subjects. He was named one of the world’s 25 most influential consultants in 2003 by Global Consulting News and in January 2005, was cited as one of Computerworld’s 100 Leaders in Information Technology (IT).
Richard T. Grimm, President of Hawaii Foodbank
Since 2000, Mr. Grimm has been President of the Hawaii Foodbank, Hawaii’s largest distributor of food to the needy in the state. In 2004, the Foodbank distributed nearly 9 million pounds of food through more than 250 agencies.
Before heading the Hawaii Foodbank, Mr. Grimm spent 35 years in the television broadcasting industry. His three-decade career in television includes positions as president of Shamrock Broadcasting’s TV division and general manager of KITV and KGMB, the ABC and CBS network affiliates in Hawaii. He was also involved in start-up and operations of other broadcast industry-related companies in the state. He has also sat on various non-profit organizations’ boards.
He was a United States Marine and served in Japan,. Okinawa and the Philippines. Mr. Grimm is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
